Meet The Team

Back in 1994 I gained a joint honours degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Wales. Following on from University I worked for Marks and Spencer as a Commercial Manager on their graduate management scheme. What a great year I had with M&S, but decided I hadn’t finished with studying and returned to University to undertake a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations Theory.

Once I got all the studying out of my system, I joined a small firm of Chartered Accountants in East Manchester, starting my training contract in 1996 and qualifying in 1999. A very enjoyable spell working for an in International firm of Chartered Accountants, working between offices in Manchester and London followed, which was a great experience that led me to the decision to break out on my own.

I established The Buxton Partnership in 2000 and have enjoyed building it up from an empty desk and a telephone to the business it is today. I have passion for working with entrepreneurs of all kinds, applying all the best practices I have witnessed over the years and marrying them to effective and robust tax planning to maximise my client’s wealth and business satisfaction.

Outside of business, the passion continues playing and watching lots of team sports, especially football, rugby, cricket, through to my love of live music, socialising with friends and family.

I reside in the Cheshire countryside with my partner, our children and a menagerie of animals. I love the fact that our house is always full of friends and family. I like to go to bed at the end of each day knowing I have done my best in all my endeavours and live by my family motto… Do it with thy might, else not at all!

In my early years, I worked for a National Bank in their flagship Tax Branch, local accountancy firms and large international practices in London. I joined The Buxton Partnership after developing a strong working relationship with David Buxton, whilst working together at an International practice.

Over the years I have dealt with an extensive range of business and personal tax clients. Through dealing with the differing needs of a wide variety of clients, I have gained valuable insights into what my clients are going through as they grow their own businesses. As a result, I’m as knowledgeable and happy delivering start-up advice as I am working for larger, established businesses.

Specialties: Working with individuals, family and owner managed business of all shapes and sizes. Helping clients understand their financial data and use it to manage their businesses more effectively. My guarantee is to treat people fairly and keep our charges transparent.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner and family, playing and watching a variety of sports, listening to music, going to concerts and travelling.
I am also a member and fundraise for The Lord’s Taverners.

Following my college studies in business and finance, my first employment was in the retail industry. After a few years in retail, I decided to pursue a career in accounting as I had enjoyed the finance side of my retail employment and so I enrolled onto an AAT course.

I started with The Buxton Partnership in 2006, In the years since then my role has developed from office apprentice to accounts assistant and my duties include financial accounts preparation for limited companies and sole traders, management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns and payroll.

Outside of work my interests include history, archaeology and crafts. I also enjoy exercising at the gym and walking.

I joined the team back in May 2017. I had previously worked in accounts for 7 years covering a variety of different roles. My role here includes preparing accounts, VAT returns and processing payroll.

I’m a mum of two and outside of work I love spending time with family and friends whenever I can. Each year we go skiing in the French Alps which I have been doing since being small and I can’t wait to get the children involved. My other hobbies include going to the gym, baking, reading and music.

After graduating in 2017 with a first–class honours degree in Finance and Accounting, I joined a firm of accountants in Wilmslow and began my journey to become a Chartered Certified Accountant.

I joined the team at The Buxton Partnership at the beginning of April 2019, having recently moved to Northwich. My role includes preparing accounts and VAT returns, processing payroll, as well as a range of other bits and bobs such as filing Confirmation Statements.

I live with my beautiful pets, Blue and Malcolm. They are my world and I love to spend as much time as possible with them. I also enjoy reading, knitting and exercising.

I have worked in a finance role for over 20 years, attaining CIMA in 2008. I have previously worked in Industry but enjoyed the challenge of practice.
